So 2012 starts with a football upset, Sunderland beat Manchester City against the odds.  Clearly Sunderland’s new manager Martin O’Neill has had a fantastically positive effect on a team that was plummeting until he arrived just a few weeks ago. Contrast this to the gloomy words spoken by Angela Merkel who along with her Intra-Euro sceptics is seeking attention-presumably for some kind of political gain.

Although Martin O’Neill would probably not fancy being in mainstream  politics, would it not be a good idea for some of these ‘top’ politicians to spread a positive message among their teams like him? Perhaps they are too scared of the personal loss should they get it wrong -but I am convinced that if the politicians and journalists just shut up for a few months, the world would improve.

I did say that I wanted to re-start this blog in 2012.

I felt that having done all of 2010 and none of 2011 it would be a neat even-odd-even thing. It is clear however that a  certain man affectionately (I use the term with tongue in jowl)  known as J.T and about whom many of my 2010 lambasts were aimed, just cannot be held down (and God knows how Vauxhall -England football sponsors – would like to do just that ) . What is ironic in this article is that the person selected to replace Terry in England photos is somebody who could have been convicted himself- but like so many alleged bullies – got off because of the dexterity of his lawyers.
